ELLSWORTH — A 1996 Ellsworth High School graduate, who has forged a distinguished career as a furniture designer and maker, Monday night won the top prize of $100,000 for her table and chandelier created for “Ellen’s Design Challenge” on HGTV.
On Ellen DeGeneres’ first-ever competition show, Vivian Beer created a clear, acrylic-topped table with a wooden trestle and curved metal legs as well as a LED lit acrylic chandelier to go with it as her entry in the contest. She competed against seven other furniture designers from across the nation.
